Wei Wuxian has a history involved with violence and death, is a martial artist by trade, has often been injured graphically, and deals with spirits and ghosts on the regular. By that extent, he is a necromancer! So dealing with death and the 'undead' is something he's familiar with, though not dealing with zombies. Think more spirits/haunts/ghosts/demons, those kinds of supernatural things.
He has a history of a suicide attempt that almost succeeds that he'll never talk about, much like his "resurrection" that stemmed from that attempt. He's dealt with being framed for crimes he did not commit as well as those he did, and is more morally grey-ish, but not as much as his novel counterpart.
