I assume you and the other cultivators probably would feel his presence, yes. He's kind of unmistakable when he doesn't hide.
I... haven't really thought about that yet. he'll probably want to meet master Lan too. Lan Wangji, that is, he's met Lan Xichen already and that's why...
[Wait, let him start from the beginning.]
For some reason, Lan Xichen asked him if it would be alright with him if he helped with the shackles. I'm not sure why he didn't just ask me, but what is done is done, and it came from a good place so I'm not going to hold it against him. I haven't yet told him the whole thing, and I'm pretty sure Hua Cheng told him to ask me anyway. I think you might be the person I have told the most about their origins so far.
( there's a soft sort of exhalation, and he hims a little, listening. )
I respect the Lans, very much, and you've run into one of their tendencies, I see.
( he leaves it at that, since nothing more needs to be said beyond the acknowledgement that the Lans don't always ask or talk with the people they should, instead indirectly going about things, with no ill will, for the most part. )
You wish to share with all three of us? Or, well. I don't imagine brothers won't speak, though I've never known Zewu-jun to be a creative soul, he is dedicated, strong for our kind of cultivators, very capable in sword arts, and handy with a song!
( he's sorry, he has no family love blinders on when it comes to his husband's brothers faults. he's a capable cultivator, a caring leader, and likewise flawed, as most people are.
... not like he hasn't manage to irritate both brothers frequently enough, ahem. )
I'm happy to formally meet your husband with mine playing likewise nice, he's... more open and relaxed with the concept of... well. We've learned how very little most worlds hold consistent to the truths of our own. If he suggests tying your husband up in a cellar, just ignore him. He has anxiety concerns.
I think if I need to tell the story, it might be best to say it just once, rather than repeat it many times, but we'll have to find a time and place.
... I'm pretty sure Hua Cheng would just ignore talk of him being tied up in a cellar by a mortal, to be honest. that's just not a thing that can happen unless he lets it happen, and if he has lost enough of his powers for it to be possible, we have bigger problems than that.
[And also Xie Lian would absolutely be breaking him out.]
Anyway, Lan Xichen looks like he's been through a lot and Hua Cheng is helping him keep the ghosts at bay for now, so I don't think there'll be a big problem.
( saying that, he sounds mildly amused, wryly resigned. it hasn't been effective. not really. death calls, and living needs to be the bigger draw, somehow. )
Mm, this place preys on that. Any help is appreciated. Hearts and minds heal slow.
( with nothing more he'll say in that, beyond the confirmation of what has already been suspected. )
Mm, his heart is fractured. It's not been long enough for it to heal.
The hauntings here, the ones we've all endured. I can't imagine whatever his is has been kind. Or his ability to... address it, remains as it would have, once.
He's bound to be far more than anything the haunts here have had to deal with, it's fascinating, really. So many of their various dead are young, in the scheme of everything.
Yes, I'm not very worried about the usual ghosts we cross paths with. The undead lords... some are probably weaker than him and some stronger but his power level is not that different from theirs, I feel.
... Even Anurr, who everyone sees as positively ancient, is much younger than me.

When and where are we meeting?

( a pause, and a wry: )
We're working on them.

Arrange the time, we'll all listen.

Hua Cheng can keep the ghosts at bay, though, so at elast he should be spared a bit.

The real complication seems to be the imconsistencies, yes.
